As part of the company’s policy of commitment to offer customers a high-quality product, its sensitivity to environmental protection and its firm concern for food safety, Fresón de Palos follows a series of standards that contribute to this goal.
By belonging to the irrigation communities listed below, all the farmers who supply our cooperative have access to the legal use of agricultural irrigation water through concessions arising from the General Chanza-Piedras-Andévalo-Alcolea System granted to the following communities: Irrigation Community of Palos de la Frontera, Irrigation Community of El Fresno, Irrigation Community of Valdemaría, Irrigation Community of Chanza y Piedras and Irrigation Community of Sur Andévalo.

Featured Standards
IFS Food is a food safety standard recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) to audit companies that manufacture goods and companies that package bulk food products. This standard is focused on the food safety and quality of processed products.
Integrated Production Certificate by the Government of Andalusia
Integrated Production is defined as agricultural systems to obtain plants that use and ensure sustainable long-term agriculture, introducing biological and chemical control methods, as well as other techniques that balance societal demands, environmental protection and agricultural productivity, along with the operations involved in processing, handling, transforming and labelling the plant products created under the system.
ISO 9001
ISO 9001 is defined as the international recognized standard for quality management systems (QMS). It is the most commonly used QMS in the entire world, with more than 1 million certificates issued in more than 178 countries. ISO 9001 provides a framework for operations and a set of principles to ensure a logical focus to organizational management that satisfies customers and stakeholders.
ISO 14001
The implementation of an Environmental Management System in accordance with UNE-EN ISO 14001 standard offers the possibility of systematizing, in a simple manner, the environmental aspects that occur in each one of the activities carried out in the organization, in addition to promoting environmental protection and pollution prevention from a viewpoint that seeks balance with socio-economic aspects.
GlobalGap
GLOBALG.A.P. is a global standard for Good Agricultural Practices recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative applicable to different products, capable of addressing the entirety of agricultural production by reducing the production risks and providing a tool to objectively verify the best practices in a systematic and consistent manner.
GRASP
GLOBALG.A.P. has developed the GRASP module to evaluate social practices in farm work, addressing specific topics related to employee health, safety and well-being. The GRASP module was developed in a joint public-private project between 2005 and 2010, including several field tests and consultations with stakeholders.
SPRING
The Sustainable Program for Irrigation and Groundwater Use (SPRING) is a voluntary add-on module to the GLOBALG.A.P. Integrated Farm Assurance (IFA) standard. Coop, a Swiss retailer and a pioneer in sustainability, has joined forces with GLOBALG.A.P. to develop this add-on for sustainable water management for GLOBALG.A.P. certified producers.
Carbon Footprint
Calculating our Carbon Footprint makes it possible to evaluate the greenhouse gas emissions generated by our operations, helping us to define specific actions to minimize our climate impact. At Fresón de Palos, we have been certified by OCA Global in the verification of the Carbon Footprint Association, reinforcing our responsibility in the fight against climate change.
Water Footprint
Measuring our Water Footprint is essential to analyse the responsible use of water in our activities, identify areas of improvement and promote sustainable management of this vital resource. At Fresón de Palos we have obtained the Agrocolor certification in the verification by the Water Footprint Network in recognition of our commitment to the protection of water and to environmental sustainability.
100% Spanish strawberries
With this certificate we guarantee that 100% of our strawberries come from Spain. All the cooperative’s productive assets are located in Spain.
Integrated quality, environment and food safety policy
Through this policy, the cooperative establishes, declares and adopts the following principles that form our management strategy: customer focus, product requirements, food safety culture, effective communication, environmental responsibility and sustainable processes, social responsibility, occupational hazard prevention with a proactive approach and continual improvement.

This policy covers our cooperative’s commitment and responsibility concerning all human rights and, in particular, those that impact our company’s activity and the operations carried out by our workers, both executives as well as employees.
