THE BEST STRAWBERRIES COME FROM THE BEST PLANTS

At Fresón de Palos, we grow the plants in our own nurseries. In order to produce top quality fruit, strawberry plants need to be exposed regularly to low temperatures. It is for this reason that Fresón de Palos relies on extensive nurseries in areas of higher altitude, specifically in the Spanish region of Castile and Leon. Certified with the highest level of quality, the plants act as a guarantee for the subsequent stages of the supply chain.

As well as developing a study and constantly monitoring the different varieties in our test fields, Fresón de Palos participates in technical and scientific development and research programmes. This ceaseless quest for new findings enables us to obtain the plants which adapt best, at any time, to the requirements of different markets, customers and members.

CULTIVATION

A NATURAL AND UNIQUE ENVIRONMENT

Once the plants are at their peak, they are moved to Palos de la Frontera and replanted in a special environment: an enclave overlooked by the Doñana National Park and surrounded by countryside, marshlands and the Atlantic coast. In this natural paradise, Fresón de Palos cultivates more than 1,200 hectares of sandy soil, which lays on earthy limestone. Together with the mild climate and excellent water quality for irrigation, these geological conditions are ideal for growing strawberries of unparalleled size, texture, colour and flavour.

Throughout the entire cultivation process, up until harvesting, the farmers are supported and carefully monitored by an entire Technical Department which includes an expert team of professionals and the most advanced technological tools.
